Wait, Back it Up

I just realized that I forgot all about posting the inspiration guest bedroom pictures.  I must have been so excited about the new furniture purchase that it escaped my mind.  Ahh well better late than never I suppose :).

To help maximize space, I love this idea! I'd put a mattress in place of the cushion.

Love Layla's guest bedroom from The Lettered Cottage

Love yellow bedding for guest room
I think a tundrel bed is a great solution for limited space too.

Take care,

A lil of this and a lil of that

I have a design folder labeled "miscellaneous photos" that is simply my favorite collection of pictures on my computer haha.  I have a little bit of everything compiled into this one folder and thought I'd share a few of them with you today.  There is no rhyme or reason, just a collection of things I like.

Love these built-ins, great way to use the otherwise dead space

Love the stair runner against the dark grain of the wood floor

Just love the romantic vibe

My dream secret garden cottage like the one from Brooke's home.  Check out the rest of her gorgeous place  here.

Ooo how I miss you summertime, and what a gorgeous picnic basket with yummy treats.

Just completely wrong!!

Love this idea.. can't wait to DIY

Love the idea of having a crab feast every 4th of July.  Can't wait to start the new tradition

Here's hoping you have plenty of random, lil bit of this and that, kind of days too,

And its Finally Begun

I am sooo incredibly happy that Mr. J agreed to purchase the living room set that I fell in love with at American Signature Furniture (I refuse to call the store by it's new name) a few weeks ago.  He liked the print and the cottage-y vibe that it gave but he was so very hesitant about the light colors of the fabric.  He was afraid that it would get stained too easily, but after much talk with a sales rep about their 7 year stain warranty (both for humans and pets) he was sold.

I could have kissed the sales girl when she showed him the stain resistant feature of the material.  She actually dipped a strip of fabric in colored water.  One end wasn't treated and the other one was.  Men are such visual creatures haha.  He said "yup this is the set then."  I think I squealed a lil bit.

The pictures on their website don't do the set justice at all.  it's really hard to see that the stripes are light and not so busy as the picture depicts them.  I love the idea of using burlap pillows and creams/whites/silvery blues in the summer as accents.  I would probably use creams and reds in the winter to cozy the room up.  Well enough of my yappin' ... here it is.
I think the set would look great in a room such as the ones below

Ahh what a fantastic day in my design book :)

See you soon,

Baby Havens

Well I'm not pregnant (not yet anyways), but hope to be someday in the future. That fact doesn't stop me from looking at baby rooms though.  They put a fuzzy warm smile on my face :).  Right now, we have a very tiny second bedroom in the house that would be perfect for a nursery. I hope to have an upstairs addition complete before babies are made, but my heart rest easy knowing that the baby would at least have a room!

The master bedroom and the lil' tiny room are the only rooms upstairs (it's over top of the living room and bathroom).  There is nothing over the dining room and kitchen, so luckily we have the space to expand up there or frankly I'd be moving!! I grew up in a tiny doll house and refuse to feel that claustrophobic again haha.

Whimsical Dr. Seuss will always make me smile

Love the dual shelving

So fun!!

color inspiration

Now onto a few "big kid" rooms

I'll be moving on to guest bedrooms next.
Hope you enjoyed your visit,

Master Retreats

I have been incredibly busy as of late, getting the in-laws moved some more.  I think the house is about 50% empty now... you have NO idea how much "crap" these people own.  They had to purchase a separate pull barn to fit the rest of their belongings into.  Mr. J and I have been taking trips over to help box up things and I admit it's hilarious looking through all the things people can accumulated over 30 years.  I am now the proud owner of a "butter thing-a-majig" that I confiscated  borrowed.  I'll post photos soon!!  Ya gotta see this fine piece of machinery.

Anywho, I thought I'd shared some inspiration pictures for the calming and serene master bedroom I hope to create some day soon!  Eeeek I'm getting so excited :)

Love the white bed frames

Okay the next photo can be blamed on the HUGE dreamer girl inside of me haha. If only that was the view outside our window.

Ahhh the crisp clean look of a cottage home makes me breathe a little easier.  I hope you're able to do the same while perusing around! :)

See ya soon,
